Gladiator

The film "Gladiator" sure gives me pure entertainment each time I watch it.I saw it first as a highschool student. At the time of this writing, it's been 8 years since the film was released. Nonetheless it never ceases to fascinate me till now. I assume I didn't grow beyond it. Gladiator goes past the standard impressions that any film with classic proportions would try to offer you.It digs deep into the area of respect and combat, reminding us that fighting used to be a noble deed, but more frequently, soldiers are used as pawns in a gladiator arena to satisfy a mob with degenerating values, at the whim of an emperor who carries the name Caesar but has in reality departed from the true glory of Rome. Russell Crowe plays the job of Maximus, a forceful and skillfull general in the imperial days of Marcus Aurelius.

The film starts with a sealing battle sequence between the trained, exquisite Roman armed forces, against a smothered, wild and barbarous German Horde. Maximus leads his men into battle by flanking the enemy and massacring them. The victory marked the golden period of the Roman Empire, and later Marcus Aurelius even offered Maximus a position as Lord Protector of the new republic of Rome. Nevertheless things suddenly came to a dramatic twist when Commodus, Marcus Aurelius ' child, murdered his pa. When Commodus became emperor and Maximus declined to give him his commitment, the new emperor arrested Maximus and had his folks finished.

Maximus nevertheless, was ready to escape and was picked up as a slave. He finally turned into a Gladiator in a distant Roman province. Maximus, so well talented in combat, became famous as a Gladiator. Ultimately his fame right away spread abroad, and he was invited to the Roman Collosseum to battle there. In Rome, he's going to meet the emperor again for a last face off, and to execute the vengeance he has so longed for.
